This post is primarily a book review, but it’s a really special one. Disclaimer: I know one of the two authors who co-wrote the book. But all opinions stated are my honest and unique opinion. This book could be one of the most important books you will ever read. It resonated with me in a way that no other “self-help” book ever has, probably because it isn’t necessarily a self-help book. But if you read it and take the knowledge imparted to heart, you will certainly be able to “help” yourself.
The book presents a new structure to explain happiness and how to achieve a lasting relationship with it. It introduces Ten Worlds that one can inhabit, that affect the quality of life or approach to it. It’s incredibly interesting to read as you get through each world, because each world can resonate with you but finding out which world you inhabit regularly is the key.
It’s a bit tricky to explain the overall concept… but that’s what the book itself is for! At the end of the day it’s exactly what it says it is: “The New Psychology of Happiness.” If you’re interested in the subject matter, psychology, happiness in general, or just an interesting read on a new theory, this one is for you.
If you enjoy books that aim to improve the self, or books that teach you something, I cannot recommend this book enough. For me it was an easy read, full of interesting information (this coming from the girl who took two years to read Eat, Pray, Love, oops). It’s not on sale just yet, but you can preorder it to receive when it’s released in October. It could even kickstart your new year if you’re planning resolutions this early. 🙂
